Closing meeting on results of surveillance audit of forest certification by FSC system took place in the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan
Today, the Ministry held a closing meeting on results of the fourth surveillance audit of forest certification by FSC system. The event was attended by deputies of the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Emir Bedertdinov, Rais Gumerov, employees of the Ministry, specialists of “Forest Certification” OOO, Roman Dombrovsky and Nikolai Stashkevich.
During the meeting, the participants discussed issues of compliance of the Ministry activities and its subordinate institutions with the FSC standard.
Note that voluntary certification of forest management is aimed at improving the sustainability of forest management based on international standards. Currently there are two types of international certification of forestry: PEFC and FSC.
