“Yel” Operation was launched in Tatarstan

“Yel” operation was launched today in the Republic of Tatarstan. “We are passing to enhanced mode of operation. About 150 mobile patrol groups have been created from among the employees of forest districts and territorial departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan. All of them are provided with transport and fuel, - said the Head of State Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Niyaz Tazmeyev. - Their task is to daily patrol forest areas with a predominance of coniferous plantations. The operation will last until December 31".

According to the expert, illegal logging, damage to forest stands entails the imposition of an administrative fine on citizens in the amount of 3 to 4 thousand rubles, on officials - from 20 to 40 thousand rubles, on legal entities - from 200 to 300 thousand rubles. In addition, the person who has committed illegal logging will have to compensate for the damage caused to forests, which depends on the species of felled tree and its place of growth, the category of forest protection.

In 2017, 136 mobile patrol groups were created, 587 raid inspections were conducted, 24 facts of illegal harvesting of fir trees were detected, the amount of damage amounted to 56 thousand rubles. 21 cases of administrative offense were initiated, in 3 cases the perpetrators were prosecuted.
