More than 1,200 people are engaged in school forest districts of the republic
Organization of school forest districts on the basis of educational institutions is actively developing in the Republic of Tatarstan. Currently, more than 40 such associations have been created, in which there are over 1,200 people. The average age of pupils is 14 years.
Activity of school forest districts is regulated by the Order of the Federal Forestry Agency dated April 16, 2012 No. 145 “On Approval of the Program for development of school forest districts movement”, “Plan of activities for development of school forest districts for the period 2018-2027” developed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Federal Forestry Agency. So, in 2018, participants of school forest districts of Tatarstan took part in various environmental campaigns, republican and All-Russian competitions; they held such campaigns as “Day of Birds”, “Day of Forest Planting”, “Protect Forest from Fire”, master classes on correct planting of trees in school plots, etc. The main event was the 2nd Meeting of school forest districts of the Republic of Tatarstan, which was held from July 29 to July 31 in the premises of the State Budgetary Professional Educational Institution “Lubyanskiy Forestry Engineering College”. The event gathered more than 200 people.
It should be noted that the intensity of activity of pupils of school forest districts is not reduced in the winter period. Now the children are holding such campaigns as "Live, Spruce", "Feed Birds in Winter", etc.
