In Tatarstan, sowing of seeds in forest nurseries continues. According to specialists of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, as of May 8 of this year, such works were carried out on the area of 8 hectares. The planned scope of work was completed by the staff of the Bilyarskiy, Buinskiy, Kaibitskiy, Laishevskiy, Nurlatskiy and Cheremshanskiy forestry enterprises. In total, it is planned to plant seeds in nurseries on the area of 22 hectares this year.

In a number of republic's forestry enterprises, planting material is grown in greenhouses. “This method has proven itself in relation to birch,” said Sagid Abdullin, Director of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Bugulminskiy Forestry Enterprise”. Thus, in a controlled microclimate, seed germination rises and seedlings grow by 1.5 to 2 times. With this technology, we are able to grow birch seedlings for 1 season”.
