Today a meeting on “Prospects for Forest Management Development - a Look into the Future” was held in Khimki, Moscow Region. The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the Federal Forestry Agency Mikhail Klinov, Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Roslesinforg Igor Murayev, Acting Director of Federal Budgetary Institution Roslesozashchita Pavel Popov, Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov, representatives of regional forestry authorities, industry institutions, the scientific and expert community.
The meeting was opened by the Deputy Head of the Russian Forestry Agency, Mikhail Klinov. He emphasized the crucial role of forest inventory materials in ensuring efficient forest management, conservation, reproduction and sustainable use of forest resources.
Igor Murayev, Director of the Roslesinforg Federal State Budgetary Institution, Nikolai Moiseyev, Chief Researcher of the Forest Research and Forest Management Department of the FBU VNIILM, Ravil Kuzyurov, Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, and others, made presentations at the meeting.
Ravil Kuzyurov in his speech told about the history of forest management in the Republic of Tatarstan, the current state of the forest fund and plans for the coming period. In particular, he said that in the republic forest management work was carried out in the period from 2011 to 2017. Currently, as part of the state assignment, the establishment of boundaries in relation to 24 forest areas on a total area of 920 thousand hectares (74% of the area of forest land) has been secured. Cadastral registration in respect of forest land was carried out on the area of 331 thousand hectares (27%).
“In 2018, work was carried out to amend the forestry regulations of all forest areas, and the Forest Plan of the Republic of Tatarstan was developed for the period 2019-2028”, the Minister noted.
Along with this, Ravil Kuzyurov familiarized the participants of the meeting with ongoing work to create an information system for accounting of the forest complex of the Republic of Tatarstan, a geographic information system of the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan and a service for monitoring and control over the state of the forest fund based on remote sensing data.
