These days, the finals of the XVI All-Russian Junior Forest Contest “Podrost” are held in the premises of Sofrino Park-Hotel in the Pushkinskiy district of the Moscow Region.
Let us recall that this contest has been held by the Federal Forestry Agency, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Federal Children's Ecological and Biological Organization “Federal Children's Ecological and Biological Center” since 2004. This year, 301 works from 68 constituent entities of the Russian Federation came to the federal (correspondence) stage. After the evaluation of the expert jury, 92 people from 47 regions of the country passed to the final, including from the Republic of Tatarstan - a student of the 23rd Landscape Gardening Group of the Lubyanskiy Forestry Engineering College - Nikita Stupitsky, a pupil of the 11th grade of Lyceum No. 121 named after the Hero of the Soviet Union S.A. Akhtyamov of Kazan - Aleksandr Zhernenkov and a pupil of 10th grade of Gymnasium No. 90 of Kazan - Gulsem Gainullina.
As part of the contest, its participants familiarized themselves with the main activities of the Federal Budgetary Institution “Avialesookhrana”, attended master classes in forestry and afforestation, etc. Today, the contestants will have to protect their projects. Nikita Stupitsky will present the research paper “Comparative Study of Introduced Trees” (nomination “The best research work of students of professional educational organizations of forestry”), Aleksandr Zhernenkov - “Assessment of CO2 emissions in ecosystems of the Raifsky Forest of the Volga-Kama State Natural Biosphere Reserve” ( “Forest Studies and Forestry”), and Gulsem Gaynullina - “The structure and diversity of the spruce population of the Lebyazye Forest Park in Kazan (“Ecology of forest plants”).
It is expected that the results of the XVI All-Russian Junior Forest Contest “Podrost” will be summed up tomorrow, on June 6th.
