Implementation of the regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the federal project “Forests Conservation” within the national project “Ecology” continues in Tatarstan
Work on reforestation within the framework of the regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the federal project “Forests Conservation” of the national project “Ecology” continues in Tatarstan. As of June 13 of this year, the work was carried out on the area of 2,315 hectares.
In particular, works on planting forest crops on the area of 1,729 hectares, afforestation on 166 hectares and combined reforestation on 34 hectares were completed in the republic. Currently, measures are being taken to promote the natural regeneration of forests.
The regional project “Forests Conservation” will be implemented in Tatarstan from 2019 to 2024. Its main goal is to ensure the balance of cutting and reproduction of forests in the ratio of 100% by 2024. To achieve this goal, two main indicators have been established: “the ratio of reforestation and afforestation to the area of felled and dead forest stands” and “damage from forest fires”.
