Ravil Kuzyurov made a report at a meeting of the Commission for Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies and Fire Safety
Today, a meeting of the Commission for Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies and Fire Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan was held at the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by Rustam Nigmatullin, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, and was attended by Ravil Kuzyurov, Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rafis Khabibullin, Head of the Department of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of executive bodies and organizations, chairmen and members of commissions of municipal districts of the republic.
Opening the meeting, Rustam Nigmatullin, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted that during the last 8 years no forest fires have occurred in the forest fund. “First of all, it is a merit of territorial bodies, he stressed. - Now in some areas there is a high class of fire danger in forests. I also want to remind you about the height of the summer holidays - the issues of ensuring the safety of children in camps should be a priority”.
Then the Head of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “UGMS of the Republic of Tatarstan” Sergey Zakharov spoke. He spoke about the ongoing calculations of complex indicators of fire danger from the beginning of the fire hazard season in the forests. “For the next three days, a high level of fire danger remains on the territory of the municipalities”, said Sergey Zakharov.
Further, the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ravil Kuzyurov, made a report. He said that since the beginning of the year, 547 forest fires had been recorded in the territory of the Volga Federal District. The total area covered by fire was over 3 thousand hectares. Compared to the same period in 2018, the number of forest fires increased by 35%, the area covered by fire increased by 20%.
“According to the data of the remote monitoring information system, 565 cases of fires on lands of other categories were identified this year on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, said Ravil Kuzyurov. - In 80% of cases, the main reason for their occurrence was the uncontrolled burning of last year’s crop residues and stubble remains on agricultural lands”.
The largest number of fires on the lands of other categories occurred in Nizhnekamskiy municipal district - 55 cases, Aznakayevskiy - 42, Zelenodolskiy - 39, Laishevskiy - 38 and Mamadyshskiy - 32.
The Minister elaborated on the measures taken for the fire-prevention arrangement of forests and the work being carried out to ensure fire safety. So, currently in the republic there is a space monitoring of a fire-hazardous situation, aviation (1.2 million hectares) and ground (11 thousand hectares). A regional dispatching office of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Forest Fire Center” also operates around the clock.
Along with this, Ravil Kuzyurov recalled the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 807 dated August 18, 2016, which introduced the requirements to clean the areas adjacent to the forest from dry grass vegetation, crop residues, deadwood, logging residues, garbage and other combustible materials or separating forest fire mineralized strip.
In conclusion, the Minister urged the representatives of municipal districts to continue work on ensuring compliance with fire safety rules in forests and to take measures to prevent the burning of dry grass, stubble and crop residues on agricultural land and trees and shrubs.
The meeting was also addressed by Konstantin Chanyshev, Deputy Head of the General Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and Yury Venediktov, Chief State Inspector of the Republic of Tatarstan on Small Courts.
