Nikolai Buduyev got acquainted with results of work on reforestation in the framework of “Forests Conservation” regional project
Yesterday, on June 23, Nikolai Buduyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Property and Land Relations, arrived in the Republic of Tatarstan on a working visit. He familiarized himself with the activities of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and the work of the Forest Selection and Seed Center in Leshoz village of Sabinskiy municipal district.
Today, Nikolai Buduyev visited the block 59 of the Stolbishchenskiy District Forestry of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Prigorodyi Forest District”, where he assessed the results of reforestation carried out in the framework of the regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the national project “Ecology”. The delegation also included Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov, Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Rinat Gaizatullin and others.
First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov said that this forest area was damaged by a hurricane on May 30, 2018. The total damage area was 14.7 ha. In the autumn of last year, employees of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Educational and Experimental Prigorodnyi Forestry Enterprise” carried out work on cleaning the windbreak timber and stump removal.
“In spring of this year, artificial reforestation was performed here. In total, 15,000 seedlings of European spruce and Siberian larch were planted on the area of 4.5 hectares”, Ilgizar Zaripov added.
Nikolai Buduyev gave a positive assessment of the work on reforestation. He noted that Tatarstan paid special attention to the development of forestry and forest protection from fires.
For reference. As of June 24, 2019, reforestation work was carried out on the area of 2,315 hectares in the Republic of Tatarstan. In particular, works on planting forest crops on the area of 1,729 hectares, afforestation on 166 hectares and combined reforestation on 34 hectares were completed in the republic. Currently, measures are being taken to promote the natural regeneration of forests.
