Employees of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan visited the Museum of Evgeny Abramovich Boratynsky

Yesterday, on July 11, employees of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan visited the Museum of Evgeny Abramovich Boratynsky in Kazan.

Evgeny Abramovich Boratynsky (1800-1844) - Russian poet, translator. He is one of the brightest and at the same time mysterious and undervalued figures of Russian literature. Museum of E.A. Boratynsky is located in an old noble estate belonging to three generations of descendants of the poet from 1869 to 1918.

This museum was opened as a school museum on March 21, 1977. In 1981, it received state status due to the special value of the collection; in 2009 it was transferred to the management of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan. In May 2012, restoration began, it ended in September 2015.

The exposition of the museum “Twilight and Sunrises of the House of Boratynsky”, opened in 2015, tells about the life, work, spiritual searches of the poet and his descendants. It presented lifetime editions and a collection of personal belongings of E.A. Boratynsky, etchings of V.A. Zhukovskiy, a desk at which, according to family legend, worked A.S. Pushkin during his stay in Kazan in September 1833, a lifetime portrait of the Kazan governor Irakli Boratynsky (1802-1859), brother of the poet.

The exposition is based on the Boratynky family archive. The silver age of Russian literature is represented by the works of the great-granddaughter of the poet O.A. Ilina-Boratynskaya. Among the exhibits are works by N.I. Feshin, N.M. Sapozhnikova, A.I. Fomin, A.A. Boratynsky, a unique lifetime portrait of L.N. Tolstoy, photographs reflecting the everyday life and family traditions of Boratynsky.
