This year specialists of the Branch of Federal Budgetary Institution “VNIILM” “Eastern European Forest Experiment Station” will develop recommendations for regeneration and re-formation cutting in the forests of the Republic of Tatarstan
Specialists of the Branch of Federal Budgetary Institution “VNIILM” “Eastern European Forest Experiment Station” will develop recommendations for regeneration cutting and re-formation in the forests of the Republic of Tatarstan. This research topic was determined by the state assignment for 2019.
“This question is very relevant for the forestry specialists of the republic, because our main task is to improve the species composition of forests and increase their productivity”, said Branch Director Ainur Puryaev. – Regeneration cutting is aimed at rejuvenation of forest plantations, that is, the old tree stand is removed and favorable conditions are created for the growth of young trees. It is worth noting that it can be carried out in protective forests. In turn, re-formation cutting is carried out in the already formed middle-aged plantations in order to radically change their composition and ensure the growth of trees of the target species”.
According to Ainur Puryaev, currently the branch employees are engaged in conducting field research at experimental production facilities of East European FES. “There are areas where regeneration and reformation cutting was carried out in the 1980-1990s. We evaluate the results of the work carried out and after in-depth analysis we will develop recommendations taking into account modern conditions”, he added.
