The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan from year to year increases the area of forest crops created by planting stock with closed root system
From year to year, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and its subordinate institutions increase the area of forest crops created by planting stock with closed root system. So, in 2015, seedlings with CRS were planted on the area of 420 ha, in 2016 - 500 ha, 2017 - 663 ha, 2018 - 690 ha.
This year in the republic, reforestation and afforestation work was carried out on the area of 2,471 hectares, including 695 hectares were created by planting stock with CRS.
Creation of forest crops from seedlings with a closed root system is recognized as the best method of reforestation in areas with difficult (unfavorable) conditions for natural restoration of economically valuable tree species. This method allows to reduce the time of “downtime” of the land and to ensure forest restoration for 4-6 years with the transfer of land to forested lands, minimize the effect of post-planting depression in seedlings, increase the survival rate and safety in the first years of cultivation, halve the number of agrotechnical and forestry cares and improve the gene pool of forests as a whole.
