A gala event dedicated to the Day of Forest Workers was held at Korston-Kazan Hotel Trade and Entertainment Complex
Today, a ceremony dedicated to the Day of Forest Workers took place at Korston-Kazan. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin, the Head of the Forestry Department of the Volga Federal District Aleksandr Ornatsky and the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov congratulated the forest workers on their professional holiday .
Welcoming the participants of the event, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin emphasized that in the age of scientific and technological progress, the age of information technology, the forest has been and remains one of the most important natural resources, priceless green wealth of the country.
“We do not always see ongoing work to conserve and increase forest areas”, said Aleksey Pesoshin. - What gigantic efforts are made every day by forest industry experts of the Republic of Tatarstan to reproduce forests, protect them from fires, illegal logging, and protect them from pests and diseases. “Highly professional people work in the forestry of the republic, who are distinguished by responsibility, dedication and enormous diligence, their dedication to their work deserve universal respect and the highest rating”.
The Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan reminded that today forests in the Republic of Tatarstan were located on the area of 1 million 271 thousand hectares. The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan comprehensively approaches the management of the forest complex and implementation of state policy in the field of forest relations.
“In Tatarstan, forest restoration is carried out annually on the area of about 2.5 thousand hectares, protective forest stands are laid on the area of more than 2 thousand hectares, and high-quality planting material is grown in the amount of more than 30 million pieces. Effective state forest supervision is being carried out, forest pathological examination, cutting of forest care and sanitary measures are being carried out in full”, he said.
As well as, Aleksey Pesoshin noted the work to protect forests from fires. “Fortunately, there were no forest fires in 2019, and this is not the first year, - he emphasized. - Particular attention is paid to formation of ecological culture of the population of the republic, development of a caring attitude to the forest. This work is carried out through the annual republican campaigns “Forest Planting Day”, “Clean Forests of Tatarstan” and “Forest Week”. Raising a worthy generation is an important task. Over the past year alone, the number of school forest districts in the Republic of Tatarstan has increased by 24 and reached 66. Today, this movement brings together more than 1,400 people”.
The forest industry of the republic does not stand still. Currently, research work is underway, the Geographic Information System of the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan is developing, projects to create water-protective forest stands along the banks of the Volga, Kama rivers and their tributaries, the Center for cultivation of pine oak seedlings with a closed root system are implementing.
Thanks to the support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, measures to support young forestry specialists will begin to work in 2020, and a phased work is planned on repair of administrative buildings of forest districts and forestry enterprises of the republic, Aleksey Pesoshin recalled.
It is necessary to continue work on improvement of efficiency of forest management, ensuring the rational use of forest resources, the Prime Minister of Tatarstan added.
He thanked the workers of the industry for their dedicated work for the good of our native republic, addressed special words of gratitude to the veterans of the forest industry, who laid the foundation for a reliable forestry and passed on rich experience to the younger generation.

Aleksandr Ornatsky, Head of the Department of Forestry for the Volga Federal District, said that the Republic of Tatarstan was deservedly one of the five leading regions in terms of the effectiveness of implementation of the transferred powers of the Russian Federation in the field of forest relations. “For the ninth year in a row, forest fires are not allowed in the republic. Tatarstan is also a leader in ensuring sanitary safety in forests - sanitary and recreational activities are regularly and qualitatively carried out in the region. The cleaning of the forest fund is also taking place at the expense of massive environmental campaigns”, he said. “Since 2012, the Forest Seed and Selection Center has been successfully operating in the republic, which provides planting material not only to Tatarstan, but also to other regions”.
This year the national project “Ecology” began to be implemented in the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Ornatsky recalled. “Within the framework of the national project, the regions of the district received almost 1.5 billion rubles, where 1.2 billion - for the technical re-equipment of the industry”, said the Head of the Department. - Our main goal for the next 5 years is to ensure high-quality reproduction of forests and afforestation. I am sure that Tatarstan will successfully cope with this task. I sincerely thank you for your work, professionalism and I wish you good health, family happiness and successful fruitful work”.
The Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ravil Kuzyurov, during his speech noted that the forest is a national wealth, an ecological framework that determines the state of the environment. “In the Republic of Tatarstan, systematic and focused work is being done to protect, conserve and reproduce forests, to ensure sustainable and rational use of forest resources. Of course, high results can be achieved largely thanks to the support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Nurgaliyevich Minnikhanov, and the Federal Forestry Agency”, he said.

Within the framework of the festival, distinguished forestry specialists were awarded state awards and honorary titles of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan. So, the honorary title “Honored Forester of the Russian Federation” was awarded to Vitaliy Utnyukhin, Director of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Almetyevskiy Forestry Enterprise”, the title “Honored Forester of the Republic of Tatarstan” – to Aleksey Mosunov, Head of the State Forest Register, Forest Management Department of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Vitaliy Zakharov, the Forester of Baganinsky district of SBI of RT “Bilyarskiy Forestry Enterprise”, Anas Ibatullin, Forest Master of SBI of RT “Aznakaevskiy Forestry Enterprise” and Zinnur Sirayev, Forest Master of SBI of RT “Menzelinskiy Forestry Enterprise”. Director of the SBI of RT “Kaleikinskiy Forestry Enterprise” Nazir Falyakhiyev was awarded the sign “Honorary Worker of the Forest”. The honorary diplomas of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation were awarded to Nafisa Zaripova, Engineer of SBI of RT “Nizhnekamskiy Forestry Enterprise”, Ivan Ulyakov, Forest Master of SBI of RT “Aksubayevskiy Forestry Enterprise”, Ilkham Shavaleyev, Driver of the SBI of RT “Nurlatskiy Forestry Enterprise”, diplomas of the Federal Forestry Agency – to Rais Zakirzyanov, Local Forester of Ayshinskiy district forestry of State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Zelenodolskiy Forest District”. Also, the employees were awarded with the Appreciation of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan and Certificates of Honor of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The solemn event continued with a festive concert, in which art workers of the Republic of Tatarstan, dance and creative groups took part.
