Illiquid timber is being cleaned on the territory of forest fund of Prigorodnyi forest district
Cleaning of illiquid wood is being carried out on the territory of the forest fund of Matyushinskiy district forestry of the Prigorodnyi forest district. “The purpose of this type of work is to improve the sanitary condition of the forest fund, prevent the occurrence of forest pests and reduce the risk of forest fires”, said Aleksey Aleksandrov, Director of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Training and Experimental Prigorodnyi Forestry Enterprise”. “To date, illiquid wood has been harvested on the area of 300 hectares, 30 people are involved in the work”.
In the Republic of Tatarstan, illiquid wood will be harvested this year on the area of 3.1 thousand ha.

Illiquid wood is harvested in places where windfalls, windbreaks, snowbreaks, crowning fires and other damages occur in the presence of illiquid wood in more than 90% of the total stock of dead trees. First of all, work is carried out in specially protected areas, recreational areas, forest parks, forests that perform sanitary-hygienic and recreational functions, protective strips along roads, in memorial plantations and other especially valuable forest areas. On lands of other purpose and other categories of protective forests, illiquid wood is harvested if there is a threat of harmful organisms or fire safety.
