23 September 2019, Monday

On October 5, 2019, the Republic of Tatarstan will host the “Forest Planting Day” as part of the Republican environmental campaign “Forest Week - 2019”. Planting trees will be organized in all regions of Tatarstan. For these purposes, the subordinate institutions of the Ministry prepared 1.5 million pieces of planting material (seedlings of common pine, European spruce, Siberian larch, small-leaved linden, common mountain ash, etc.).

Near Kazan, the campaign will take place at three sites - near the settlements of Sosnovka and Kulseitovo of Vysokogorskiy district and near the Staroye Shigaleyevo village of Pestrechinskiy district (you can see the gathering places of participants in the attached maps). The campaign starts at 10:00. Shovels and seedlings will be issued on the site.

You can learn about the time and place of planting in the regions of the republic from the head-foresters of forest districts (telephones are given on the website of the Ministry: http://minleshoz.tatarstan.ru/rus/spmin.htm?department_id=8502).

The Republican environmental campaign “Forest Week” has been carried out by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan since 2017. Its purpose is to foster a respect for the forest, to draw public attention to the problems of conservation, reproduction and increase of forest resources. Last year, more than 20 thousand people became participants of the campaign. They created commemorative planting, alleys and new forest plantations on the area of 300 hectares, more than 1.1 thousand cubic meters of solid household waste and deadwood were removed from the forest fund.

This year the campaign will be held from October 5 to 12. Within its framework, forest industry experts also plan to carry out landscaping of recreational areas in forests, installing nameplates and banners on fire and forest protection topics, collecting seeds of forest plants and environmental lessons in educational institutions.
