Lyudmila Zheltukhina, Deputy Head-forester of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Alkeyevskiy Forest District”, gave a lecture “How to behave in the forest if you get lost” for pupils of 5-10th grades of the Chuvash-Brodskiy secondary school in Alkeyevskiy municipal district.
Lyudmila Zheltukhina told schoolchildren about orientation methods in the forest using a compass and navigation devices, on trees, mosses, lichens, anthills and the Sun. She noted that it is desirable to determine the sides of the horizon using several of these methods. Also, the Deputy Head-forester dwelled on the rules that must be followed so as not to get lost in the forest and the course of action if this happened.
In addition, as part of the lecture, the “Rostok” school forestry work plan for the 2019-2020 academic year was discussed. Lyudmila Zheltukhina introduced the new leader to the pupils of the association - a geography teacher Gatina Regina Ilfatovna.
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Head-forester informed the pupils about the ongoing republican environmental campaigns “Clean Forests of Tatarstan” and “Forest Week - 2019”.
