Employees of SPI of RT “Alkeyevskiy Forest District” held a workshop for pupils of school forestry “Rostok” of Chuvash-Brodskaya secondary educational school of Alkeyevskiy municipal district.
The workshop started with sowing seeds of tree-shrub species in the school district. Lyudmila Zheltukhina, Deputy Head-Forester of the SPI of RT “Alkeyevskiy Forest District”, told the pupils about the features of these works. The schoolchildren sowed white acacia seeds, guanillaria, wrinkled roses, large-fruited hawthorn, cotoneaster brilliant, etc. It is expected that the children will observe the seedlings and take care of them afterwards. The grown planting material will be used for landscaping the school grounds and the Chuvash Brod village.
Then the pupils of the Rostok school forestry went to the administrative building of the Chuvash-Brodsky district forestry of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Alkeeyvskiy Forest District”. There, Lyudmila Zheltukhina acquainted the pupils with maps, forest inventory map-boards and other industry documents, and the Local Forester Ildar Zaynullin - with a GPS-navigator device.
The workshop ended in the forest. There, schoolchildren learned to measure the age, diameter, height and weight of trees, to determine the taxation indicators of forests in an eye-catching way, and to decipher inscriptions on quarter pillars.
