The Ministry discussed the prevention and suppression of illegal wood logging, transportation, processing, sale and export
Today, the Ministry held a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on prevention and suppression of illegal harvesting, transportation, processing, sale and export of wood in the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov. The event was attended by representatives of the Main Directorate of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Traffic Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Office of Rosprirodnadzor in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Office of Rosselkhoznadzor for the Republic of Tatarstan, the Office of the Federal Tax Service for the Republic of Tatarstan, the Interregional Territorial Administration of the Federal Property Management Agency in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ulyanovsk Region.
Let us recall that the interdepartmental commission was created by Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on May 16, 2019 No. UP-342 to coordinate the work and ensure interaction between the executive authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as the territorial bodies of federal executive bodies in the Republic of Tatarstan and local authorities in the field of control for compliance with the laws of the Russian Federation and the laws of the Republic of Tatarstan, governing legal relations in the field of procurement, transportation, processing and sale of wood.
The meeting was opened by the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov. “Interagency cooperation has a positive effect, in the Republic of Tatarstan there are no large-scale violations in the field of timber harvesting and transportation, said Ilgizar Zaripov, addressing the audience. - The facts of illegal felling of forest stands are isolated when citizens unknowingly cut one, two trees. However, we do not weaken control in this area”.
The main report was made by the Head of the State Control and Supervision Department of the Ministry Airat Akhmerov. In his speech, he announced the results of the analysis of the implementation of federal state forest supervision for the 9 months of 2019.
“There is a positive trend in reducing the number of facts of illegal logging, said, in particular, Airat Akhmerov. - So, compared with the same period last year, the number of cases decreased by 34%, the volume of illegally harvested wood by 4%”.
The speaker also spoke about the work in the Unified State Automated Information System for Accounting for Wood and Transactions with It, the results of operational and preventive measure “Lesovoz”. So, for 9 months of this year as part of “Lesovoz” operation, 645 raids were carried out, 662 vehicles loaded with timber were inspected.
Further, a discussion and exchange of views on possibilities of increasing the effectiveness of federal state forestry supervision, preparing and conducting the “Yel” operational and preventive measure aimed at ensuring the safety of coniferous young growth in the New Year period took place.
