Collection of cones will continue as part of the state assignment for 2020 in the State Budgetary Institution “Bugulminskiy Forestry Enterprise”
Despite the fact that nature begins to go into hibernation, employees of the State Budgetary Institution “Bugulminskiy Forestry Enterprise” began to collect cones. Before the beginning of spring, it is necessary to prepare and dry cones of conifers, and then extract high-quality seed from them. Pine cones are harvested from November to March. The cones collected in the month of November should be sprinkled with a thin layer in a cone dryer and stored for 2 months, stirring from time to time so that the seeds do not self-heat and spoil.
Until the end of the harvest season, the forestry enterprise plans to collect more than 3 tons of ordinary pine. After processing, at least 30 kg of seeds should be obtained from this amount of crop. The seeds obtained will subsequently be sown in the nursery of the State Public Institution “Bugulminskiy Forest District”; and in two or three years the seedlings will be used to create new forests.
