“Yel” Operation is launched in Tatarstan

Today, on December 20, the operational-preventive event “Yel” was launched in the Republic of Tatarstan. “We pass to the enhanced mode of operation. More than 140 mobile patrol groups have been created from among forestry officers and territorial departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan, said Airat Akhmerov, Head of the State Control and Supervision Department of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. - Their task includes daily patrolling of forest areas with a predominance of coniferous stands. The operation will last until December 31”.

Let us recall that illegal logging, damage to forest stands entails the imposition of an administrative fine on citizens in the amount of from 3 to 4 thousand rubles, on officials - from 20 to 40 thousand rubles, on legal entities - from 200 to 300 thousand rubles. In addition, the person who has committed illegal logging will have to compensate for damage caused to forests, which depends on the species of the felled tree and its place of growth, and the category of forest protection. Damage is calculated in accordance with Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1730 of December 29, 2018.

In 2018,  as part of “Yel” Operation, 147 mobile patrol groups were created, more than 1.2 thousand raid inspections were carried out, while 18 facts of illegal harvesting of fir trees were revealed, the amount of damage caused amounted to 41.8 thousand rubles.

All facts of violation of forest legislation can be reported to the direct forest protection number 8-800-100-94-00, as well as through the mobile application “People's Control”.
