Employees of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Prigorodnyi Forest District” conduct raids as part of the “Yel” operational and preventive event. “Due to the proximity to Kazan, we have repeatedly strengthened the control over the preservation of coniferous young stands, said Ilnur Kashafeyev, Head-Forester of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Prigorodnyi Forest District”. - So, forest patrols are carried out according to the schedule and approved routes. Since the beginning of the operation, 12 raids have been carried out jointly with law enforcement agencies. We also conduct explanatory discussions for citizens about the respect for the forest. To date, there have been no cases of illegal logging”.
“Yel” Operation was launched in the Republic of Tatarstan on December 20. Let us recall that illegal logging, damage to forest stands entails the imposition of an administrative fine on citizens in the amount of from 3 to 4 thousand rubles, on officials - from 20 to 40 thousand rubles, on legal entities - from 200 to 300 thousand rubles. In addition, the person who has committed illegal logging will have to compensate for damage caused to forests, which depends on the species of the felled tree and its place of growth, and the category of forest protection.
