Forestry Department of the Volga Federal District discussed the implementation of the action plan to combat illegal logging and timber trade
Today a video conferencing meeting was held in the Forestry Department of the Volga Federal District under the chairmanship of Deputy Head of the Department Sergey Kovalev. The event was attended by representatives of the forestry authorities of the Volga Federal District, from the Republic of Tatarstan - Deputy Minister of Forestry Rais Gumerov, heads of structural divisions of the Ministry Timur Galiyev, Azat Kurbanov and others.
Opening the meeting, Sergey Kovalev informed the participants about the preliminary results of the federal budget for the current year and the results of protection of budget designs for 2020-2022.
Also within the framework of the event, issues on execution of the Order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. AG-P9-1110 dated February 18, 2019 and paragraph 18 of the Action Plan on solving problems in the field of combating illegal logging and trafficking of wood, approved by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Aleksei Gordeyev, were raised. In particular, Sergey Kovalev said that according to the action plan, checks were conducted this year in a number of regions of the country. “I ask you to tighten control over the harvesting and turnover of wood”, he stressed.
