On behalf of the staff of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and on my own behalf, I sincerely congratulate you on the upcoming New Year 2020!
The outgoing year was successful, we completed all tasks. The implementation of the regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” has begun under the federal project “Forests Conservation” of the national project “Ecology”. According to the project, reforestation and afforestation work was carried out on the area of 2,471 hectares, 13.6 tons of seeds of the main forest-forming species were harvested, and 33.2 million pieces of standard planting material were grown. Under another program – “Development of the Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2014-2024” - protective forest plantations were laid on the area of 2,415 hectares. Thanks to the systematic work of employees of the Ministry, its subordinate institutions, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Tatarstan, executive authorities of municipal districts, as well as fire-fighting measures, emergency situations during fire-hazardous seasons were avoided in the republic from 2011 to 2019. Forest pathological examination was carried out on the area of more than 45 thousand ha, sanitary measures on an area of more than 6 thousand ha, logging and sanitary felling - on 11.3 thousand ha. Thus, we were able to reduce the area of pests by 30.5 thousand hectares and the area of dead forest stands by 1.3 thousand hectares.
In 2020, development of the forest complex will continue. The equipment park of forest districts and forestry enterprises of the republic will be updated, the Geoinformation system of the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan will operate, the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan on financial support measures for young forestry specialists will come into force. Thanks to the support of the President of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov, work on overhaul of the administrative buildings of the subordinate institutions of the Ministry will start as part of the program.
