The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan has begun preparations for 2020 fire hazard season. Currently, as part of a package of measures, a “Consolidated Plan for Suppression of Forest Fires in the Republic of Tatarstan” is being developed.
This document will display information on forests of the republic, the number of forest fire formations, fire fighting equipment and machinery, procedure for attracting and using such funds in accordance with the level of fire hazard in forests, etc.
In addition, forestry specialists began to implement the work plan of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan on fire prevention in forests for 2020. Within its framework, explanatory work will be carried out among the population to prevent the occurrence of forest fires (lectures, discussions about the forest and the need for careful handling of fire, speeches at district meetings with participation of representatives of institutions, organizations and enterprises, in the media, etc.).
The fire hazard season in forests in Tatarstan is expected to begin on April 15, 2020.
For reference. In 2019, the fire hazard season in forests of the Republic of Tatarstan was opened on April 15 and closed on October 10, its duration was 179 days. Over the entire period, 663 cases of fires were recorded on lands of other categories on a total area of 354.7 ha. Thanks to the coordinated work of specialists from the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, its subordinate institutions, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Tatarstan, executive authorities of municipal districts, as well as fire events, it was possible to avoid emergency situations during the fire hazard seasons from 2011 to 2019 in the republic.
