Today a meeting on “Effectiveness of exercising the delegated powers of the Russian Federation in the field of forest relations by the constituent entities of the Volga Federal District: results of 2019 and tasks for 2020” was held in Yoshkar-Ola, the Republic of Mari El. The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the Federal Forestry Agency Mikhail Klinov, Head of the Forestry Department of the Volga Federal District Aleksandr Ornatsky, heads of regional forestry authorities of the Volga Federal District, including from the Republic of Tatarstan - First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov, representatives of industry institutions, scientific and expert communities.
The Head of the Forestry Department of the Volga Federal District Aleksandr Ornatsky, Director of the Federal Budgetary Institution “Russian Center for Forest Protection” Vitaly Akberdin, Acting Head of the Federal Budgetary Institution Avialesohrana Nikolay Krivosheyev, Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Roslesinforg Igor Murayev and others made reports at the event.
In particular, the First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov acquainted the meeting participants with the ongoing work to prevent the occurrence of forest fires in the Republic of Tatarstan. Thanks to the coordinated work of specialists of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, its subordinate institutions, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Tatarstan, executive authorities of municipal districts, as well as fire safety measures, Tatarstan managed to avoid emergencies during the fire hazardous seasons from 2011 to 2019. “The existing experience has identified four critical factors for successful fight against forest fires: these are prevention, efficiency, the availability of material and technical base and organizational work. A large role is given to campaigns aimed at complying with fire safety rules in forests”, he said.
