Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan continues work on checking seeds of forest plants for laying in the reserve stock
The branch of the Federal Budgetary Institution “Roslesozashchita” - “Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan”, continues work on checking seeds of forest plants for laying in the reserve stock. According to the plan for 2020, the “Tatar Forest Seed Station” department of the branch received seeds of the main forest-forming species from the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Mamadyshskiy Forestry Enterprise” and the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Kamskiy Forestry Enterprise”.
In accordance with the state assignment, this year the reserve stock will be replenished with 50 kg of seeds.
Let us recall that the reserve stock for seeds of forest plants was formed by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan in order to ensure reforestation and afforestation in the event of lean years. Seeds are stored in a specialized warehouse of the Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Leskhoz village of Sabinskiy municipal district.
For reference. The reserve stock contain seeds of the first class of quality with high rates of germination energy, not infected by pests and without pathogenic microflora, mainly harvested at objects of a constant forest seed base, in highly productive plantations that have certificates confirming their sowing quality. In the harvest years, if there is an already formed reserve stock, it is updated, during which the available seeds are completely or partially replaced with freshly harvested ones.
