Employees of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Training and Experimental Prigorodnyi Forestry Enterprise” began work on cleaning illiquid wood. “This year we were able to start harvesting emergency, dead wood, damaged trees much earlier due to warm weather and a small amount of snow, said Aleksey Aleksandrov, Director of the forestry enterprise. - Currently, work is being carried out on the territory of the Iske-Kazanskiy precinct forestry of the Prigorodnyi forest district, 4 teams of 5-6 people are involved. Sawn parts of the trees are piled up for decay”.
According to him, this year harvesting of illiquid wood in the territory of the forest fund of the Prigorodnyi forest district will be carried out on the area of 140 hectares.
For reference. Illiquid wood - wood that cannot be used for economic purposes due to the loss of technical qualities due to rot damage, as well as fires and other natural disasters. Illiquid wood is harvested in places where windfalls, windbreaks, snowbreaks, crown fires and other damages occur in the presence of illiquid wood more than 90% of the total stock of dead trees. First of all, work is carried out in specially protected areas, recreational areas, forest parks, forests that perform sanitary-hygienic and recreational functions, protective strips along roads, in memorial plantations and other especially valuable forest areas. On lands of other purpose and other categories of protective forests, illiquid wood is harvested if there is a threat of the occurrence of foci of harmful organisms or fire safety.
