Forestry enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan are preparing for spring forestry work

Subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan are preparing for spring forest cultural work. So, at present, repair and maintenance of forestry equipment and other facilities of the machine and tractor fleet involved in implementation of reforestation and afforestation activities are underway at the forestry enterprises. Necessary forestry equipment is also purchased.

For forest cultivation works, 33.2 million pieces of standard planting material were grown in the forest nurseries of the republic and more than 13.6 tons of seeds of the main forest-forming species were harvested.

It is expected that the forestry season will be open on April 20 this year. In 2020, in the framework of the regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the national project “Ecology”, it is planned to carry out reforestation on the area of ​​4.8 thousand hectares. Thus, planting of forest crops will be performed on the area of ​​2.2 thousand ha, measures for natural reforestation - on 2.5 thousand ha, combined reforestation – on 9 ha and afforestation - 102 ha.

Work on agrotechnical care of forest crops will be carried out on the area of ​​16 thousand hectares, their supplementation in the spring and autumn – on 4.5 thousand hectares.

For reference. The regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” as part of the federal project “Forests Conservation” of the national project “Ecology” was launched in 2019. Its main goal is to ensure the balance of forest disposal and reproduction in the ratio of 100% by 2024. To achieve this goal, 2 target indicators were established: “the ratio of reforestation and afforestation area to the area of ​​logged and lost forest stands, %” and “damage from forest fires, million rubles”. At the end of 2019, the values ​​of indicators amounted to 67.5% and 0 rubles, respectively.
