Employees of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Training and Experimental Prigorodnyi Forestry Enterprise” are preparing for the upcoming forest season
SBI of RT “Training and Experimental Prigorodnyi Forestry Enterprise” continues preparation for the upcoming forestry season. Currently, employees of the institution are engaged in repairing forestry machinery and equipment, stratification of forest plant seeds, work on “blackening of snow”, as well as harvesting hardwood cuttings.
“Cuttings are one of the simplest methods of vegetative propagation of plants, trees and shrubs. According to technology, the length of harvested cuttings should be 15-20 cm (at least 5 buds on the cuttings). The lower part of the handle is cut at an angle of 45 degrees, then they are connected in bundles of 20 pieces to calculate the quantity and convenience when planting. After the cuttings are laid in a pile of snow to preserve their viability and prevent spillage from hibernation, said the Head of the Base Forest Nursery of the Forestry Enterprise Lenar Kasimov. - After the snow melts, the cuttings are planted in the school department of the nursery”.
According to him, currently, 42.5 thousand pieces of hardwood cuttings have been procured, including Hybrid-38 poplar - 20 thousand pieces, Sukachev willow - 10 thousand pieces, brittle willow - 5 thousand pieces.
