Start of events dedicated to the International Day of Forests in the Republic of Tatarstan

Events dedicated to the International Day of Forests have been launched in the Republic of Tatarstan. So, the employees of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Elabuzhskiy Forest District” met with pupils of the Regional Public Association of Youth and Handicapped Children “Planeta Dobra” of the Republic of Tatarstan. During the meeting, Reforestation Engineer Oksana Smirnova and Forest Master Zufar Saitov told the audience about the forest, its most important environmental, economic and social functions, activities of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and its subordinate institutions.

International Day of Forests or World Forest Day is celebrated on March 21. The purpose of this ecological holiday is to draw public attention to the problems of forest resources conservation, to disseminate knowledge about the significance of forest ecosystems, their actual state, and the main measures for their protection and restoration. In 2020, the key topic of International Forest Day is Forests and Biodiversity.

Within the framework of the holiday, industry specialists will conduct lessons, lectures, presentations, exhibitions, round tables, conferences, master classes and other events in preschool and general educational institutions of the republic.
