Leading Consultant of the Ministry Rezilya Slepchenko took part in the round table “Problems of prosecutorial supervision of environmental and ecological legislation implementation”

Leading Consultant of the State Control and Supervision Department of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Rezilya Slepchenko made a report at the round table “Problems of prosecutorial supervision of environmental and ecological legislation implementation”. The round table was organized as part of continuing education courses for senior assistants, assistant prosecutors of cities and districts and equivalent prosecutors of specialized prosecutors who supervise environmental safety and economy of the Volga and Ural federal districts. Courses are held in Kazan on the basis of the Kazan Law Institute (branch) of the University of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.

During her speech, Rezilya Slepchenko spoke about the activities of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of preventing and detecting violations of forest legislation. She elaborated on the ongoing planned and unscheduled, documentary and field inspections, patrols, scheduled (raid) inspections and surveys in the forests, the work of the Interdepartmental Commission on prevention and suppression of illegal logging, transportation, processing, sale and export of wood in the Republic of Tatarstan, and also interdepartmental operational and preventive measures “Lesovoz” and “Yel”.

In particular, Rezilya Slepchenko reported that in 2019 the state forest inspectors of the Republic of Tatarstan carried out more than 25 thousand control and supervisory measures, compiled more than 1 thousand protocols on administrative offenses, issued 725 decisions on imposition of an administrative punishment for a total amount of 2.8 million rubles. “The largest amount of administrative fines was imposed for violation of sanitary safety rules in forests, rules for the use of forests and illegal logging, damage to forest stands”, she said.

Within the framework of the round table, the problems of enforcing laws on environmental protection, nature management, protection of the animal, plant world, specially protected natural territories, etc. were also discussed.
