International campaign “Garden of Remembrance” is launched in the Russian Federation
The International campaign “Garden of Remembrance”, dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, was started in the Russian Federation on March 18, 2020. The first cities where tree planting began in memory of 27 million people who died during the war were Sevastopol, Kerch, Simferopol, Feodosia, Volgograd, Novorossiysk, Anapa and Grozny. On the day of the campaign launching, volunteers planted 136 thousand seedlings.
The organizers of the campaign are the All-Russian Public Movement “Victory Volunteers” and the Victory Commemoration Fund with support of the Presidential Grants Fund. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and the Federal Forestry Agency joined the campaign.
As part of the “Garden of Remembrance” International campaign, tree planting will take place in hero cities, cities of military glory, and regional centers, both within the city boundaries in city parks, squares, malls, and on the territory of the forest fund. The campaign will involve more than 25,000 volunteers, 1,500 forest districts. A total of 10,000 sites have been prepared throughout the country and in neighboring countries. The event will end on June 22.

There you can find the date, time of planting and contact details. Also on the site there is an opportunity to register, tell who you are dedicating your tree to in order to receive an electronic certificate that will remind your family of this event.
It should be noted that in the Republic of Tatarstan the campaign will be held in late April of this year. It is planned to plant 381.9 thousand seedlings in memory of the great feat of 381.9 thousand Tatarstan people who did not return home from the front to their relatives and friends.
