Congratulation of the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan R.A. Kuzyurov on International Day of Forests
Dear Tatarstan people, I sincerely congratulate you on International Day of Forests!
International Day of Forests or World Forest Day is celebrated on March 21. The main goal of this ecological holiday is to inform the public about the importance of all types of forests and to raise awareness of their environmental, economic and social functions. In 2020, International Day of Forests is dedicated to the topic “Forests and Biodiversity”.
Forest is an invaluable gift of nature, a national treasure and a guarantee of the ecological safety of our country. Preservation of forest and its wealth is one of the most important priorities of the state policy of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan. This was reflected in the regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” within the framework of the national project “Ecology”, which began to be implemented in 2019. By 2024, we must ensure a balance of forest disposal and reproduction in the ratio of 100%.
It should be noted that the Republic of Tatarstan has all the means and resources to achieve this goal. The guarantee is provided not only by the material and technical base of the subordinate institutions of the Ministry and the available high-quality planting material, but also by the presence of highly qualified forestry specialists, numbering to more than 2.5 thousand people in the republic. Thanks to their professionalism and devotion to their work, in Tatarstan it is possible to maintain a positive trend in sanitary and forest pathological condition of forests, and also to create thousands of hectares of new forest plantings annually.
Of course, conservation, augmentation, careful and rational use of forest resources is a duty not only of representatives of the forest industry. I want to sincerely thank each Tatarstan citizen for active participation in the republican environmental campaigns “Forest Planting Day”, “Forest Week”, and “Clean Forests of Tatarstan” and for their invaluable contribution to our common cause.
