Deputy Minister Rais Gumerov inspected the readiness of the Zelenodolskiy experimental forestry enterprise for the 2020 fire hazard season

Today, the Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rais Gumerov, inspected the readiness of the SBI of RT “Zelenodolskiy Experimental Forestry Enterprise” for the 2020 fire hazard season in the forests. He examined the type II forest fire station and got acquainted with the course of implementation of a set of measures for the fire arrangement of forests. Explanations were given by the Director of the forestry enterprise Almaz Akhmetov.

In particular, Almaz Akhmetov said that this year 400 km of new fire-resistant mineralized strips will be created in the forest district and maintenance of existing barriers with a total length of 519 km will be performed. In addition, work will be carried out on construction of fire-prevention roads, their reconstruction, improvement of recreation areas for citizens in the forests, installation of information stands, nameplates and billboards on fire-related topics, etc.

Also during the working visit, Deputy Minister Rais Gumerov examined the basic forest nursery of the SBI of RT “Zelenodolskiy Experimental Forestry Enterprise”. As part of the growing season, forestry specialists plan to carry out reforestation on the area of 19 hectares, to harvest 260 kg of seeds of the main forest-forming species and to grow 330 thousand pieces of standard planting material.

Let us recall that despite the self-isolation regime introduced in the Republic of Tatarstan, in accordance with paragraph 4 of Presidential Decree No. 239 of April 02, 2020 “On measures to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population in the Russian Federation in connection with the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID -19)”, part of the staff of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and its subordinate institutions continues to work on implementation of federal state forest supervision (forest protection), preparation for the forest cultural season 2020 and ensuring fire safety in the forests.
