The Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia is improving methods for determining the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of forests
In order to improve the quality of determining the characteristics of forests during forest management, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation is expanding the list of cases of forest taxation using materials of remote sensing of the Earth.
Also the ability to account of forests by decrypting stereo satellite images without the appointment of forestry activities is introduced.
The use of aerial and satellite imagery materials will increase the productivity of taxation, primarily in underdeveloped forests. At the same time, the complexity and cost of such work will be significantly reduced, and the area will increase.
The corresponding order was registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on April 8 this year.
