Foresters of Tatarstan will plant 483.7 thousand seedlings within the framework of the “Garden of Remembrance” International campaign
On April 25, 2020, the Republic of Tatarstan will host the International Campaign “Garden of Remembrance”, dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In total, 483.7 thousand seedlings will be planted on the territory of the forest fund of the republic in memory of the great feat of 350 thousand Tatarstan people who did not return home from the front to their relatives and friends.
Given the current sanitary and epidemiological situation and the regime of self-isolation in the Republic of Tatarstan, tree planting will be organized exclusively by employees of subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Other measures will also be taken to prevent and combat the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 - participants will come to the campaign wearing masks and disposable gloves, plant trees at a distance from each other and be in a group of no more than two or three people.
Let us recall that the international campaign “Garden of Remembrance” started on March 18 and will last until June 22 of this year. Its organizers are the All-Russian Public Movement “Victory Volunteers” and the Victory Commemoration Fund with support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and the Federal Forestry Agency.
During the campaign, 27 million trees will be planted in Russia and the CIS countries in memory of 27 million people dead during the Great Patriotic War. As of April 17 this year 7.4 thousand people joined the campaign, planting 5.4 million seedlings. Planting trees took place in the Crimea, Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Saratov, Rostov regions, Stavropol Territory, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Tajikistan, Nepal, etc.
It should be noted that everyone can become a participant in the International campaign “Garden of Remembrance”. Those who live in a private house or are currently in the country house can plant a tree in their area by supporting the campaign on social networks with the hashtag #СадПамятиДома. In these difficult times, many remain at home surrounded by relatives and friends, and therefore parents have more time to share the stories of their Heroes with their children. Draw together a tree that you will definitely plant later, make a craft, applique, tell who you will dedicate the “living tree” in the future, and do not forget to share photos with the hashtag #СадПамятиДома in social networks.
