403 thousand seedlings were planted in Tatarstan within the framework of the “Garden of Remembrance” International campaign
“Garden of Remembrance” International campaign continues in the Republic of Tatarstan. Today, on April 25, seedlings in memory of the heroes who fell during the Great Patriotic War, were planted in 23 forest districts, as well as in a number of cities and towns of the republic. One of the sites was the territory of quarter 37 of the Vysokogorskiy precinct forestry of the Prigorodnyi forest district.
“I believe that the “Garden of Remembrance” is a wonderful event. This is a great opportunity to honor the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, who at the cost of their lives paid for the peace, freedom and independence of our country, to perpetuate their names and deeds and pass on their memory to future generations, said Ilnur Kashafeyev, Head-Forester of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Prigorodnyi Forest District”. - I dedicated my tree to my grandfather Gabdulkhak Kashafeyevich Kashafeyev, who participated in the Great Patriotic War. My father often told me how selfless and courageous he was. I am very proud of my grandfather”.
“I planted a tree in honor of my great-grandfather, a veteran of World War II, Galiyev Ibrakhim Galiyevich. He was born in 1896 in the Kon village, which was then part of the Laishevskiy district of the Kazan province. My great-grandfather was called to war when he was 45 years old. He was a Red Army soldier who participated in battles for Western Ukraine. He died in a battle on April 13, 1944 near the Lyubitovo village, Kovelskiy district, Volyn region. There is a corresponding entry in the Memory Book about this, said Timur Galiyev, Head of the Department of Forest Reproduction and Afforestation of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. - I will tell the story of my great-grandfather to my son, I hope he will pass it on to his children, so his memory will live forever. We must remember the exploits of the war heroes, their courage and heroism, and do everything to prevent this from happening again”.
“Our volunteers today participate in tree planting not only here, but also in municipal districts. Of course, taking into account the sanitary-epidemiological situation, the events are not held in large quantities, said Azat Idrisov, Head of the Tatarstan regional branch of the Volunteer of Victory. - In addition to the “Garden of Remembrance” International campaign, we are now implementing an online project for pupils of educational institutions “Victory Steps”. Within its framework, participants will go through online cases, write letters to veterans, study the history of their family together with the “My History” project, and will also take part in a number of other events in the field of civil-patriotic education of youth”.
In total, 4 thousand seedlings of common pine were planted on this site today. Given the current sanitary and epidemiological situation and the regime of self-isolation in the Republic of Tatarstan, tree planting was organized by the staff of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, a branch of the Federal Forestry Agency “Roslesozashita” - “Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tatarstan”, State Public Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Prigorodnyi Forest District”, State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Tatarstan “Training and Experimental Prigorodnyi Forestry Enterprise”, representatives of the Tatarstan regional branch of the “Volunteer of Victory” and the Regional Branch of the All-Russian Popular Front in the Republic of Tatarstan. Other measures were also taken to prevent and counteract the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 - the participants were in protective equipment, planted trees at a distance from each other and were in groups of no more than two or three people.
It is worth noting that the Republic of Tatarstan (Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic) made a significant contribution to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Thus, the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic became the forge of the combat reserves of the army, over 180 thousand people underwent military training, 2 aviation and 7 rifle divisions, 10 separate regiments and battalions, hundreds of combat crews of the country's air forces were formed. About 700 thousand natives of the republic participated in battles on all fronts of the war, half of which did not return from the battlefields.
At that time, the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was one of the most important regions for production of military equipment. Factories and plants, which yesterday produced peaceful products, were being rebuilt to produce formidable weapons. In addition, more than 70 plants and factories, 34 research institutes, as well as the Union of Writers of the USSR were evacuated to the republic from the western regions of the country, Moscow and Leningrad.
Let us recall that the “Garden of Remembrance” International campaign started on March 18 and will last until June 22 of this year. Its organizers are the All-Russian Public Movement “Victory Volunteers” and the Victory Commemoration Fund with support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and the Federal Forestry Agency. The purpose of the campaign is to plant 27 million trees in memory of 27 million dead during the Great Patriotic War.
In the Republic of Tatarstan, as part of the campaign, more than 483 thousand seedlings will be planted in memory of the great feat of 350 thousand Tatarstan people who did not return home from the front to their relatives and friends. As of April 25 this year 403 thousand seedlings were planted in the republic.
