Work on expansion of triploid aspen in vitro clones is underway in the laboratory of Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan

Work on expansion of triploid aspen in vitro clones is underway in the laboratory of microclonal vegetative propagation of the Forest Selection and Seed Center of the Republic of Tatarstan. “We have been continuing this work since last year. As you know, triploid aspen, unlike usual, has high resistance to fungal diseases, - said Deputy Head of the Laboratory Nail Khanov. - In addition, it grows rapidly and is less dependent on growing conditions”.

Clones of triploid aspen obtained in an in vitro laboratory are planned to be planted on the territory of the forest fund of the Republic of Tatarstan. This year, for example, about 10 thousand in vitro clones will be planted.
