Veterans of the forest industry: Sultanov Feliks Khamitovich

The column “Veterans of the forest industry” continues as part of celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic foundation. Today, its hero is Sultanov Feliks Khamitovich, who has devoted 45 years to forestry.

Feliks Sultanov was born on May 9, 1947 in the Tlyanche-Tamak village of Tukayevskiy district. After graduating from the Lubyanskiy Forestry Engineering College, he began his career in 1965 as an Assistant to the Forester of the Bazarno-Matakskiy forest district of the Kuibyshevskiy forestry enterprise (now the Bolgarskiy Forestry Enterprise). After 2 years, a young specialist was appointed to the position of a Forester of the Bazarno-Matakskiy forest district, and in 1970 he was entrusted with the post of a Chief Forester of the Kuibyshevskiy forestry enterprise.

In 1982, Feliks Sultanov was appointed as a Director of the Kuibyshevskiy forestry enterprise. Under his leadership, the effectiveness of measures for the protection, conservation and reproduction of forests and the work of the nursery was significantly increased.

In 1987, Feliks Khamitovich headed the Agryzskiy timber industry, in 1993 - Elabuzhskiy forestry enterprise. In the period from 2007 to 2010 he worked as the Head-Forester of Menzelinskiy forest district. Wherever Feliks Sultanov worked, he paid special attention to improving the species composition of forest stands, protecting forests from fires and illegal logging, and improving working conditions for workers.

For his dedicated work, Feliks Khamitovich was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Forestry of the TASSR, the signs “For Conservation and Enrichment of Forest Treasures of the RSFSR”, “XXX Years of Service in the State Forest Guard of the Russian Federation”, the Certificate of Honor of the Federal Forestry Agency, etc.

Currently, a veteran of the forest industry lives in the Menzelinsk town, surrounded by relatives and friends.
