The first results of the national project “Ecology” in 2020: reforestation and afforestation on the area of 2254.8 ha were carried out in Tatarstan
In the Republic of Tatarstan, the spring forestry season of 2020 is completed. Within its framework, employees of subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan - forestry enterprises carried out reforestation works on the area of 2254.8 hectares, including planting of forest crops - on 2152.2 ha, afforestation - on 102.6 ha.
Let us recall that all this year in the republic, according to the regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the national project “Ecology”, reforestation will be carried out on the area of 4,784 hectares. Also during the year it is planned to procure 11.4 tons of seeds of the main forest-forming species and grow 30.9 million units of standard planting material.
Along with this, other activities were carried out in Tatarstan as part of the forestry season. So, work on laying protective forest plantations was carried out on the area of 1,934 hectares (ravine-gully – 1,895 hectares, field-protecting - 39 hectares), addition of forest crops - on 2,578 hectares, sowing of seeds in forest nurseries - on 18 hectares.
In the summer and autumn periods, natural reforestation, combined reforestation, agrotechnical care of forest crops, removal of deadwood and selective felling in field-protecting forest stands, seed harvesting of the main forest-forming species, supplementation of forest crops and soil preparation for next year's crops will be carried out.
For reference. The regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” as part of the federal project “Forests Conservation” of the national project “Ecology” was launched in 2019. Its main goal is to ensure the balance of forest retirement and reproduction in the ratio of 100% by 2024. To achieve this goal, 2 target indicators were established: “the ratio of reforestation and afforestation area to the area of felled and damaged forest stands, %” and “damage from forest fires, million rubles”.
