Work on caring for young stands is underway in Tatarstan
Employees of the forestry enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan have begun work on caring for young stands. “Lighting and cleaning are important forestry activities that are carried out to regulate the density of forest stands, improve the species and quality of young trees and the conditions for growth of main species trees”, said Vasily Chernov, Leading Advisor to the State Forest Register, Forest Use and Forest Management Department of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan.
According to him, to date, improvement cutting in young stands has been carried out on the area of 100 hectares. High rates of work are demonstrated by specialists of the Kaleikinskiy, Cheremshanskiy and Kzyl-Yulduzskiy forestry enterprises. In total, in 2020 in Tatarstan it is planned to carry out such work on the area of 2801 hectares.
