At the initiative of the Federal State Environmental Protection Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia, the information project “Escaping World” was launched on the website of the popular science magazine “Science and Life”.

In the framework of this project, on a separate page of the site (www.nkj.ru/special/mir), informational materials appear on a regular basis, in an accessible form delivering to a wide audience the news of the federal project “Preservation of biological diversity and the development of ecological tourism” of the national project “Ecology”. The authors of the project pay special attention to scientific activities carried out in specially protected natural areas of federal significance in order to preserve and restore rare and endangered species of plants and animals.

“The purpose of the special project is to enhance the prestige of Russian conservation science. Many scientific studies that are implemented in the protected areas of the Russian Federation are not conducted in any country in the world. We want to tell and show our fellow citizens what unique and interesting work is being done in the protected areas, to interest and captivate them”, explained the Acting Director of the Russian Environmental Resource Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia Evgeny Stupnikov.

The creators of the special project plans to conduct exclusive interviews with leading scientists, reports and live broadcasts from nature reserves and national parks of the country.

Let us recall that the federal project “Conservation of Biological Diversity and the Development of Ecological Tourism” is being implemented to preserve biodiversity, including through the creation of at least 24 new protected areas. Activities include systematic measures to conserve land and sea ecosystems.
