Let us recall that the International campaign “Garden of Remembrance” started on March 18 and will last until June 22 of this year. The purpose of the campaign is to plant 27 million trees in memory of 27 million dead during the Great Patriotic War.

“Given the natural and climatic conditions of the Republic of Tatarstan, it was planned to complete all plantings before May 20. However, due to the prevailing sanitary and epidemiological situation, the campaign in some districts was postponed to a later date, said Ravil Kuzyurov. - In general, as part of the campaign, it was planned to plant more than 480 thousand seedlings in memory of the great feat of 350 thousand Tatarstan people who did not return home from the front to their relatives and friends”.

According to the Minister, as of May 25 this year 505 thousand trees were planted in Tatarstan, including 399 thousand seedlings - on the territory of the forest fund and 106 thousand seedlings - on the territory of municipal districts. The campaign was especially large-scale in Buinskiy (45 thousand seedlings were planted on 1 plot), Laishevskiy (26 thousand seedlings were planted on 1 plot) and Arskiy (24.1 thousand seedlings were planted on 1 plot) forest districts.

Also, the campaign took place in all municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. “During the events, all necessary measures were taken to prevent and counteract the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 - the participants were in protective wearing, planted trees at a distance from each other and were in groups of no more than two or three people, said Ravil Kuzyurov. - Also, pupils of school forest districts joined the campaign, planting trees in their plots and posting photos on social networks. In total, 137 schoolchildren received individual certificates”.
