Commemorative plantings, squares and alleys were laid as part of celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Tatar ASSR with a total area of ​​192 hectares in the municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. The work was attended by employees of subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and executive committees of municipalities. They planted seedlings of mountain ash, pine, linden, spruce and larch.

“Initially, we assumed that these events will be held in large numbers. But due to the prevailing sanitary and epidemiological situation, the plans were adjusted, said Timur Galiyev, Head of the Forest Reproduction and Afforestation Department of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan. - During the planting, all necessary measures were taken to prevent and counteract the spread of the coronavirus infection COVID-19 - the participants planted trees in protective wearing at a distance from each other in groups of two or three people”.

In total, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan plans in 2020 to lay memorable plantings for the 100th anniversary of the TASSR foundation on the area of ​​289 ha. “The remaining work will be carried out in the autumn period”, added Timur Galiyev.
