President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov handed the keys of new equipment to foresters of the republic
Today in Kazan, at the site near the Kazan Family Center, a ceremony on handing over the keys of the new forest patrol, forest fire and forestry equipment to the heads of subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan was held. The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Chief Federal Inspector for the Republic of Tatarstan Viktor Demidov, the Chairman of the Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on Ecology, Nature Management, Agro-Industrial and Food Policy Azat Khamayev, Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Kuzyurov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
Before the start of the ceremony, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the state of the republic’s forestry complex, the material and technical base of institutions and the progress of implementation of profile tasks within the framework of the regional project “Forests Conservation in the Republic of Tatarstan” of the federal project “Forests Conservation” of the national project “Ecology”.
He was told that as of July 15 of this year in Tatarstan, reforestation work was carried out on the area of 2.8 thousand hectares. The target indicator of the regional project – “The ratio of the area of reforestation and afforestation to the area of cut down and dead forest stands” - is 106% (152% of the plan).
Greeting the audience, Rustam Minnikhanov said that forests preservation and reproduction today is one of the most important tasks. “The forest is our wealth. Those who come to our republic always mark our forest and water areas. Moreover, forests occupy only 17% of our territory. It is very important for us to preserve this property”, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan stressed.
Rustam Minnikhanov especially noted the importance of training qualified personnel and maintaining the continuity of generations in the forestry industry. Also, big tasks are facing the republic in terms of reforestation. “I have just been shown the dynamics in the framework of national projects. We were supposed to reach the specified parameters in 2024, and this year we have already exceeded the plan and reached 106%. This is the systematic work of the republic's forestry complex. Our nurseries, breeding center, availability of equipment and competent specialists - all this allows us to solve these problems”, he said.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that since 2010 the forest industry of the republic has received 1,314 units of equipment. “I can assure you that the forest complex is very important for us. It is necessary to strictly follow all forest management rules and to protect our forests. We need to be especially vigilant these days. In order to ensure fire safety, we have introduced a special regime in our forests. These measures allow us to prevent forest fires in recent years”, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan added.
“Dear friends! Behind your back stand huge teams of forestry workers who are working for the sake of preserving the forests of our republic. We are proud that we have such a powerful forestry complex, we are proud of our specialists. Tatarstan is an industrial region and therefore there is a very large technogenic load. The presence of forests allows us to minimize these risks. This is a huge work of you and your colleagues. I would like to thank you for the contribution you make to the stability and ecological state of Tatarstan”, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan addressed representatives of the subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Then the ceremony of handing over the keys to the new machinery took place. In total, today the fleet of forest districts and forestry enterprises of Tatarstan was replenished with 112 vehicles of forest patrol, forest fire and forestry equipment purchased at the expense of the federal and republican budgets.
62 units of forest patrol vehicles based on VAZ-21214, 2 units of forest patrol cars based on Chevrolet Niva, 23 units of forest patrol vehicles based on UAZ-390945, 9 units of forest patrol vehicles based on UAZ-374195, a small forest patrol complex based on UAZ-390945, fire tanker AC-3.0-40 (GAZ-33086), 8 units of timber trucks based on Kamaz-43118 with a hydraulic manipulator, 6 units of Belarus-82.1 tractors were transferred to the subordinate institutions of the Ministry.
