The staff of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan expresses sincere condolences to the family and friends of the former head of the All-Russian Research Institute of Forestry and Forestry Mechanization Nikolai Aleksandrovich Moiseyev who passed from this life.

An outstanding scientist, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolai Moiseyev headed the FBU VNIILM from 1977 to 1997. Under his leadership, the institute became one of the most important scientific and technical centers of the country.

Nikolai Aleksandrovich is the author of over 600 scientific papers, incl. 40 monographs, textbooks and brochures on forest economics and forest management, widely used in substantiating the main directions of forestry development and solving applied problems of the industry. Major works: monograph “Forest management in Russia” (2014), monograph “On the strategy in tactics of forest science development” (2014), textbook (team of authors) “Economics of environmental management” (2015), textbook for university students “Economics of forestry” (2012) and others.

Nikolai Moiseyev was one of the developers of the Strategy for the Development of the Forestry Complex of the Russian Federation until 2020. He developed a fundamentally new theory of reproduction of forest resources, on the basis of which proposals were developed for the organization of sustainable forest management, a system for financing forestry in the Russian Federation.

For his merits and scientific achievements, Nikolai Aleksandrovich was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, the titles “Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation”, “Honored Forester of the RSFSR”, “Honored Forester of the Russian Federation” and others.
