The Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a presentation of the project “Forest Inventory Using Airborne Laser Scanning and Aerial Photography”
Today ANO VO “Innopolis University” to the staff of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan presented the project “Forest Inventory Using Airborne Laser Scanning and Aerial Photography”.
The purpose of this project is to test the hypothesis about the possibility of using the VLS and AFS data to obtain the following characteristics of forest management: spatial position, species, height, diameter of each individual tree and the number of tree trunks per unit area.
Within the framework of the discussion, the current situation with forest management, prerequisites for the use of new approaches in taxation, plans for the digitalization of forestry in the republic for 2021, as well as issues of digital transformation of the forestry complex as a whole were discussed.
