Cooperation between the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Technical University of Dresden (Federal Republic of Germany) continues. Recall that this year, before the start of the pandemic, the university delegation paid a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan to discuss a new joint research project “Development of the concept of sustainable forestry in aspen plantations and their use in the Republic of Tatarstan“ ASTAT ”. University employees visited the Ministry, Alekseevsky and Nurlatsky municipal districts and got acquainted with the work of the Forest Seed Breeding Center of the Republic of Tatarstan.
At present, Alina Nasibullina, a doctoral student of the Department of Forestry at the Institute of Forestry and Forest Protection, Dresden Technical University, is conducting a detailed examination of the state of aspen stands on the territory of the forest fund of the Nurlat forestry. It is expected that, based on its results, a set of forestry measures will be developed for the cultivation of aspen plantations and their care, as well as proposals for organizing the processing of wood of this species.
