1.2 million seedlings were planted in Tatarstan as part of the All-Russian campaign “Save the Forest”

Mass tree planting took place in the Republic of Tatarstan today as part of the All-Russian campaign “Save the Forest”.

“We held events in three municipal districts, the total number of participants was more than 140 people, said Albert Shamilov, head-forester of GKU RT “Kamsky forestry”. In the Mamadyshsky region, 500 pieces of pine seedlings were planted on the territory of the forest fund, in the Chistopol region 600 pieces of oak seedlings in the park of the city of Chistopol. In the Rybno-Slobodsky district, planting was organized in the park of the village of Naratly, the employees of the district forestry and pupils of the school forestry “Young Forester” took part in it. They planted 150 pine seedlings.”

“We held an action in the 11th quarter of the 63rd Butinsky district forestry, said Konstantin Shcherbakov, deputy head-forester of the RT “Kaleykinsky forestry”. In total, 10.5 thousand pieces of pine seedlings with a closed root system were planted. Landing was done manually using the Saba sword.”

In total, 1.2 million pieces of planting material have been planted in the Republic of Tatarstan on an area of ​​over 300 hectares. A large-scale action was held in Buinsky, Zainsky and Nizhnekamsky municipal districts.

It should be reminded that the republican nature conservation actions for planting trees have been carried out by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tajikistan since 2011. Their goal is the reproduction and augmentation of the republic's forest resources, fostering a careful attitude to the forest, drawing public attention to the problems of its conservation and improving the ecological situation in general. For 10 years, as part of the campaigns in Tatarstan, new forest plantations were planted on an area of ​​more than 6.5 thousand hectares, 25 million planting material was used, and the total number of participants exceeded 435 thousand people.
