Forestry specialists of the republic presented gifts to veterans in honor of the International Day of Older Persons

Yesterday, October 1, the world celebrated the International Day of Older Persons. On this occasion, forestry specialists of the Republic of Tatarstan visited the veterans of the industry and presented them with gifts.

“We are immensely grateful to our veterans for many years of work and experience. Many of them were mentors of those who are now working in the forestry and forestry, says Almaz Mutygullin, head-forester of the Cheremshansky forestry GKU RT. Supporting and caring for veterans is the least we can do for them.”

“Our employees also visited the veterans and presented them with gifts, said Vladimir Ishmuratov, head-forester of the RT “Agryz forestry”. In addition, at the initiative of the veterans, an action was held to plant trees in the park in Agryz with the participation of volunteers of the youth center “Avangard”. In total, 30 maple seedlings were planted by joint efforts.”

International Day of Older Persons is celebrated annually on October 1st. The holiday was established on December 14, 1990 by the decision of the UN General Assembly. The goal of the International Day of Older Persons is to draw public attention to the problems of older people, raise awareness of their contribution to the development of society and the need to change attitudes towards older people, ensure their independence, the necessary care and conditions for realizing their inner potential.
